Rachel Conrad

Rachel is a senior in the College of Arts & Sciences studying Health & Societies. She spent last summer studying Highly Active Anti-Retroviral Therapy (HAART) in sub-Saharan African countries with a professor from Penn's medical school and will travel to Botswana this summer to continue her research. She hopes to become a professor and research infectious diseases in developing countries. |

Ella Dutton

Ella is a senior double majoring in Health & Societies (Bioethics concentration) and Hispanic Studies. She grew up in Portland, Oregon, where she was involved in philanthropic organizations like National Charity League and Operation Shoebox. Ella has been a part of Penn AIDS Awareness ever since July 2005 when she began planning the now annual GLAM M*A*C AIDS Event. While studying abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina, during the fall of 2006, Ella worked with a non-profit HIV/AIDS awareness and advocacy organization called Riesgo Cero (Zero Risk) led by medical professionals. She is currently heavily involved in helping fundraise for Penn AIDS Awareness through events such as the Benefit Concert during AIDS Awareness Week as well as pushing for more collaboration with other student groups on campus. |

Anjeli is a senior in the College of Arts & Sciences and hails from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She is majoring in Health & Societies and South Asia Studies and plans to pursue a career in medicine and public health. Anjeli is particularly interested in spreading awareness about the plight of HIV/AIDS victims in developing countries and their resulting physical and emotional needs. |

Miraya is junior from Orange, CA and is studying Chemistry along with African Studies at Penn. A great advocate of AIDS awareness worldwide, Miraya is very excited to be VP of Awareness this year. She hopes to do her part in increasing the awareness of AIDS at Penn. In her spare time, she likes to run cross-country, play the piano, and is part of Penn's traditional Korean drumming troupe. |

Jessica is a junior in the College of Arts & Sciences, prospectively majoring in English and Health & Societies, with a concentration on Disease & Society. She has volunteered for three years at a hospital in New Jersey, has had a longstanding interest in infectious diseases and global epidemics, and is currently a part of the Advocacy branch of PAA. Jessica looks forward to helping out with the group’s events for the upcoming school year and making an impact on HIV/AIDS awareness on campus. |

Allyson is a sophomore in the School of Engineering and Applied Science, majoring in Bioengineering. She grew up in Roslyn Harbor, New York, where she was very involved in her high school’s AIDS Peer Educators club. She also initiated the national program of Grassroot Soccer/KickAIDS in her high school community, providing her with a construct and foundation of organizational support that allowed her to help victims on a global level. Allyson hopes to eventually combine her studies in bioengineering with AIDS research. |

Elizabeth Mongol-Gunter is a junior from Maryland in the College of Arts & Sciences, and she is pursuing a major in Biology and a minor in Gender, Society & Culture. Elizabeth is interested in both the scientific and social aspects of the AIDS epidemic. She believes that the best audience to spread awareness about AIDS is college students in order to clear up any misconceptions they may have about the disease. Also, she is very committed to working in the community and is excited to begin AIDS awareness projects in West Philadelphia. |

Nirav, a sophomore from Sugar Land, TX, has been doing web programming and graphic design for six years, and is in the Digital Media Design program in the School of Engineering & Applied Sciences. He is also interested in a minor in Consumer Psychology, involving both the College of Arts & Sciences and the Wharton School. In his spare time, he plays guitar and piano, and makes fairly obvious, yet somewhat amusing, comments about the world. His website is the moderately unoriginally titled NiravSanghani.com, but you have to admit, it gets the point across. |
